Pray for North Korea

BMS has started Project Cyrus - a prayer ministry for change in North Korea.   The regime in North Korea is the most repressive in the world, with most of it's population living below the breadline.  Christians are relentlessly persecuted and many are executed.

Project Cyrus is a call to prayer and named after King Cyrus who showed compassion on captive nations in his Persian Empire and allowed them to return home.  This included Jewish exiles.    Project Cyrus is about praying for the freedom of the North Korean people from their repressive regime.   it recognises that in what seems like an impossible situation, we have a God who can change that nation dramatically. Please look at the BMS website for details.  You can sign up individually for prayer information but we are also signed up as a church too.   You even get a bookmark and free wristband as an aide memoire if you sign personally.

A rich vein of prayer fuel for North Korea is also provided by  Open Doors UK which has some excellent resources to both inspire and challenge.   Do download what you need and pray.

Never think prayer for countries like North Korea is wasted because it seems so impossible.   People prayed for years for the fall of East European communism.   It seemed like an impossible cause - but prayer was answered and the iron curtain came down and this part of the world has a growing church now.  Things happen when the church mobilises in prayer.  Praise God!

So please keep on praying  1 Tim 2:1-6   I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Saviour,  who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time.
